Since forming in late 2023, Central Victoria’s own band, Relays, has released a series of independent, non-politically correct singles that have collectively amassed over 30,000 plays on Spotify, making them a rising name in the Aussie underground punk scene. The band’s growing buzz can be attributed to their blistering live shows, characterised by an element of unpredictability thanks to autistic frontman and guitarist Shann Lions, along with the rhythmic consistency of lead drummer Mik Weird and the youthful energy of bassist El Wellard.
Relays’ debut self-titled album was released independently on October 2, just in time for their performance at the Chopped Festival (October 4-6), where they shared the stage with acts like Cosmic Psychos and A. Swayze & The Ghosts. Relays have a 23-date Australian tour from November 2024 till February 2025, so make sure you get off the couch to see them live.
